Frequently Asked Questions

The Embassy of Madagascar in Washington is responsible for processing visa applications for persons living in the following countries:

  • Download and fill up the visa application form (PDF format)
  • Print and sign the filled-up form
  • Pay the visa fees
  • Send the complete visa application file (filled up and signed form + documents to be provided + proof of payment of visa fees) to the address of the Embassy of Madagascar in Berlin.

The visas for Tourism, Cruise or Sailor, of less than 30 days, can be obtained directly at the international airports and ports of Madagascar.

The processing time for a visa application file is 10 working days, upon receipt of the COMPLETE file. Any INCOMPLETE file will be automatically rejected.

The visa fees, paid at the Embassy, cannot be refunded nor modified, whatever the reasons (rejection, withdrawal…).

The visa application file for multiple entries must be accompanied with a certificate of reservation or flight schedule, mentioning the existence of several trips towards Madagascar.

The parks and reserves managed by Madagascar National Park (MNP) are the most visited sites in Madagascar.
